The fun starts here for the poor Citadel Radio Engineer
just geting here takes forever , then you get to fish out a gate key
on your extra-large keyring , then tip toe over the cow trap bars and
fight 4 or 5 padlocks all on a big chain, it's even more fun at night
in the rain/mud or the wet wet valley fog.
one slip on the cow trap and you break a leg or drop the dam keys
(been there done that...)

If your lucky its a day time trip and the gate might be open
(there is a shotgun club here at the bottom of the foothills)
but then you will have to drive right up the gun range!
hopefully BILLybob and BETTSyjo will let you drive through while they reload.




This is one of the roads you dread having to drive no matter how nice outside it is.

Just look at this rut! The road leads to a transmitter on the West Side of the
San Joaquin Valley in the hills south of the Altamont near Vernalis, Ca.
During the rains in December 1996 and January 1997 this rut which has
depths ranging from 10 feet to 40 feet deep
was cut into the side of the 103.3 transmitter road.

JUSTICE SUES RADIO GROUPS

The owners of two Spokane radio groups were sued by
the U.S Justice Department[DOJ], which alleges their combined
70 percent share of the advertising market violates the
Sherman Antitrust Act.

But under the terms of a companion settlement also filed
with a U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.,
Citadel Communications Corp. and Capstar Broadcasting Corp.
will terminate a joint sales agreement that covers 44
percent of radio advertising sales.
The agreement, in place since 1995, had allowed Citadel
representatives to sell the biggest share of radio
advertising time in Spokane, according to the complaint.
Citadel set the prices, collected payments, deducted its
expenses and divided profits with Triathlon.
Triathlon, as a party to the agreement, had no incentive to
compete with the joint sales stations.
Advertisers couldn't shop around the combine, the
complaint says.
